The ice-fluted Alpamayo

Ascents of Quitaraju and Alpamayo

Quitaraju 19,803 feet / 6,036 m – Alpamayo 19,511 feet / 5,947 m

For those who are in good physical shape and have some experience in technical climbing, this trip offers a challenging opportunity to climb 2 neighbouring peaks.

After climbing Quitaraju by the direct east face route, we will attempt the ice-fluted pyramid of Alpamayo (5,947 m), which boasts the title of “most beautiful mountain in the world”, by the Ferrari route. A fabulous tour combining two of the Cordillera Blanca’s most renowned peaks!
